Just as the growth of on-line buying was happening prior to the pandemic and was simply accelerated by it, so too, the trend in take-out/away options for restaurants began well before. What we see from almost all of our restaurant and café clients is that the growth of take-out outdoor dining was already becoming more popular prior to COVID, even in locales and climates that did not seem conducive.

Strip Malls too have seen marked increase in foot traffic as a result of outdoor seating.
Eventually, capacity restrictions for indoor dining will be lifted, but it will most likely be some time before the public is comfortable with crowded indoor restaurant seating. Maintaining inviting “Al Fresco” spaces can allow all patrons a safe, welcoming dining experience.
