FALL OUTDOOR RESTAURANT FURNITURE CHECKLIST

Restaurant Furniture

How the new furniture is received at your establishment is as important as what you buy.

If your food service operation offers outdoor dining or lounge items, and if your climate does not allow for 12 month use of it, you may be looking at storing or winterizing your seating and tables and the rest of your restaurant furniture. Whether the restaurant furniture will be left out and covered or removed and stored out of the elements, after a full season of use, now is a good time to inspect it to insure it is functional for next season.

FALL OUTDOOR RESTAURANT FURNITURE CHECKLIST:

    • If the product is stationary powder coated metal, before covering and securing it for the winter, check for any cracks or chips in the paint or finish and repair them now to avoid further damage.  Even when covered, moisture can still cause rust or flaking to spread. Check for any cracks or damage to welds or joints and inspect any hardware for corrosion or rust. If your stationary seating is wood or polywood, check the hardware for corrosion or missing pieces.
    • For tables, chairs, and stools that you plan to store, make careful inspection of the items part of the process to make spring set up easier.
    • Check all chairs and table bases to insure there are no missing glides and order new ones now to insure you have them next season.
    • Check metal frames for damage to welds or finish and repair or replace the product based on level of damage.  Ditto any woven materials.
    • For tables, if you will be disassembling to store it, be careful to save all needed hardware and make sure it is easily found come spring.
    • If there is broken slings or straps on your chairs or chaises, now is a good time to replace them.  Most commercial manufacturers can provide these or there are repair companies in most markets that can handle this work.

Taking the time to inspect, repair, and replace any parts or products now, will insure you are ready for next season.

Bon appetite!
